Simple, and does the job June 17, 2010 Christopher J. Shaker (Bend, OR United States) I've purchased a few of these now, and they continue to work great. They are quiet, and help me cool off AV equipment
Keeping my PS3 cool in my TV cabinet. June 1, 2010 George Kraft I purchased a new PS3 for my kids to play games and for me to watch Bluray movies. I've been told that the PS3 runs hot and it might be a problem if kept in an enclosed TV cabinet. I purchased this USB fan with mounting kit. I cut a hole in the back panel of my cabinet to install the fan, then plugged it into the PS3. It turns on and off with the PS3. For a while I kept a digital thermometer in with the PS3, and the fan did a great job.
Exceptionally quiet! March 26, 2010 Ryan F. (Tiffin, Ohio) I purchased this fan to cool a DVR unit that is in a closed cabinet, and this fan plugs into the USB connection and works as expected. While the fan is not very fast, it is extremely quiet, and moves enough air to cool the unit well.
USB fan March 18, 2010 James Noel It runs off the USB port, so it takes 5 volts -- don't expect a fast spinning fan. Given that, it does what you would expect.
The Answer to Electronic Component Cooling February 3, 2010 SeaWolf's Home Workshop Blog (Florida) My DirectTV HD DVR generates so much heat, I was afraid it could become a fire hazard, even when I left the front of the media center open. After setting one of the 120x120x25mm fan kits over the area of the upper DVR case vent where the heat was the greatest, the drop in temperature was rapid and dramatic. The noise from the fan was imperceptible unless you are next to it. The fans are powered by a 110 volt to USB converter, that you can plug in anywhere. The fan has no vibration of interference problems with the electronic equipment. These little fans are truly a low cost and effective answer to electronic component heat problems.
