A+ Product - Great installation, Awesome performance September 8, 2010 Vikram Jairam (Minneapolis, MN USA) Between my Dell Studio 1555, my 13" Macbook Pro and my wife's Dell Netbook, this device is great! I have a 13" Macbook pro but dont use Mac OS at all, I run Windows 7 ultimate x64 on it and installation was a breeze on all three laptops. All three devices needed a restart in order to complete installation of drivers, especially the network and display. Once this is done, it works like a charm. A+ would be my review. I've noticed a number of people mentioning that the VGA performance is slow. I have it connected to a Dell 2707WFP using DVI with a 1920 X 1280 resolution and I haven't noticed any issues. Works great with everything I do. I am not a heavy gamer, but again, I have no way to tell a direct DVI connection from the DisplayLink connection. Most of my work is programming / word processing and this works just great. K33926US rocks in my opinion. Perfect for the Home office.
Handy Docking Station August 25, 2010 Debbie Fowler (Beach Park, IL United States) The Kensington Universal docking station is an excellent tool for docking with the exception that there is no on/off switch so user needs to open the lap top every time to turn it on if you are using an external monitor only and intend to keep it closed. Otherwise it was shipped quickly and is exactly as described. It took less than 5 minutes to set it up and accepted both my home Acer laptop and my work HP Elitebook. I did have to shut down and re-start both after connecting the USB to each. I also had an issue with the internet connection, but after running the set up program for it, all was fine. This is a great time-saver for anyone who has to switch out lap-tops or even likes to travel with their lap-top and has to constantly disconnect all the peripherals all the time.
Does exactly what it's supposed to, painlessly July 6, 2010 W. Rosenblatt (New York, NY) I got this product to use with my Lenovo Thinkpad, after having gotten a similar product from Lenovo. The Lenovo product had problems installing on Windows 7 and did not support the monitor resolution it claimed in its own documentation. This USB docking station installed completely painlessly - the software is preloaded on the device, so no CD or internet download is necessary. It drives my new 27" monitor with full, crisp 2048x1152 resolution, and all of my USB devices work fine. I also like the extra audio jack on the rear for connecting my external speakers so that the one on the front is reserved for my Skype headset.
This is a new standard for docking stations. Highly recommended.
Frustrating with the display July 5, 2010 Joseph Otterstrom The USB connection has been handy and for the most part this has worked well. The frustration with this product is that the monitor image is clearly superior when it is plugged in directly to the computer rather than when it goes through this devise.
