Logitech Alto Laptop Stand & Keyboard September 3, 2010 John Becton (Shreveport, Louisiana United States) This is an excellent product, well worth the price. The stand is sturdy and the keyboard is also well made. If I had any complaints about the product it would be with the layout of the Insert, Delete, Home and Page Up/Page Down keys. They are arranged in a vertical column as opposed to a horizontal row. This takes a little getting use to, but can be overcome. All in all, the product is very good.
It's a Great product for a Great price August 30, 2010 This is an excellent product because the base is comfortable and it has a wireless keybord that allows you to have your laptop with wires. The usb hub is perfect if you need more usb ports.
Good Product August 28, 2010 Nayith The Notebook stand it's great, sharp and the keyboard it's amazingly soft. Unfortunatelly, My HP laptop has the headphone jack in the front, So I'm not able to plug them in, or to plug some external speakers on. The product was perfect, brand new, and fast delivered. Thanks.
Alto Cordless didn't work with my laptop June 17, 2010 Sudarshan Karkada (Missouri City, TX USA) In order for this notebook stand to work, your notebook lid (screen) should open to an angle of 135 degrees or more. My Acer laptop would open only up to 120 degrees and hence the screen stays leaned forward instead of being vertical.
The stand's base angle is not adjustable. It is set to 45 degrees angle. I have verified this by calling Logitech's customer support.
If you are considering to purchase this product, do the following. Open the notebook's lid as far back as possible. Then measure the angle from base (table surface) to the screen. Do not measure from the keyboard surface! If the angle is less than 135 degrees, then you are better off trying another product.
This item is not useful for me. From what I have seen, the build quality of every component seemed great. I am returning it with reluctance.
Broke down after 18 months June 11, 2010 Rose (NYC) I never write reviews, only read them, but I felt I should share this experience for the sake of potential buyers...
I was really happy with this at first--the set-up gave me much better working ergonomics and flexibility with the keyboard. But one by one things started breaking down--first, the keyboard (as another reviewer described) started randomly repeating letters as if it were stuck, then only worked intermittently (no--it was not the batteries, these were replaced).
Then a strange problem--the calculator "bug"--this was super strange, one day the calculator function on my laptop kept popping up over and over to 700 windows...making it impossible to work at all. My husband scoured the internet from his laptop for a solution and discovered that it happens occasionally to a number of PC users but was NOT a virus. Finally one person wrote that they unplugged their Logitech USB mouse and it went away. My mouse was not the problem; as soon as I unplugged the Logitech cordless stand from the laptop I have never had the problem again. I am very grateful my husband dug and dug on forums until one person happened to figure this out.
I am really disappointed this product did not live up to my original experience; I will be contacting Logitech warranty services to see if they will honor the warranty and repair it at least.
