Product Description Xpad Slim cools your laptop while protecting your lap from laptop heat. Use it on your desk, on your lap, or on your bed. Non-slip interface helps balances your laptop while slim profile makes it unnoticable. A universal fit design accomodates up to 17" laptops.

LOVE this product September 7, 2010 Susan Gargiulo (Cleveland, OH) I use my computer a lot while sitting on my bed. This is GREAT!!! Keeps my laptop ventilated and stops it from overheating. No noisy fans to break down. I would highly recommend this!

Got this for my 17in hpq laptop and it definitely cools the systems very nicely and is light weight and easy to use on your lap. The only gripe I have with it and have to admit its kind of nasty is that one of the top corner pads that the pc sits on have come un glued and I have had to stick it back on a couple times. Also the smell of rubber is legit it did smell of very strong rubber when I took it out of the package. I set it outside on my patio for 2-3 days and it aired out and is now fine.
Smells and is ineffective for a MacBook Pro August 30, 2010 sitio (Manhattan Beach, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Many of the reviews here have said that it stinks like plastic when you first receive it. I read those before purchasing and chose to hope that my experience would be like those who said the smell went away after a few days. I have now had this xpad for over 2 months. I have washed it, left it in the sun, and mostly left it outside since it smells too much to bring into the house. Every couple weeks, I bring it in and use it anyway. Unfortunately, it seems to make no difference in keeping my MacBook Pro cool. It might work better for other computers, but it is useless for my Mac. In fairness, it does smell less than when I first opened it when the smell was completely overpowering. But it does still stink. Badly. Today, I gave up and bought a USB 2-fan Targus. So far, I love it. I didn't want to give up a USB port for a cooling pad, but now I'm thinking it is worth it.
I hope that if you buy this you have better luck than I did.
