Thermapak 17" Heatshift Cooler Efficiency July 19, 2010 Patrick C. Fowler Just got the 17" version of Thermapak's Heatshift Cooler for my MacBook Pro and am very pleased with its performance at this point. On a stable, stationary
surface, this product lives up to its billing and very efficiently cools my laptop and does so quickly and maintains the cooling over extended periods of time (e. g., one hour+). One caveat needs to be raised, however: when using it on my lap, it is difficult to get the same degree of efficiency- not surprising, perhaps, given that the pad is difficult to maintain flush against the underside of the machine. This caveat, nonetheless, will not keep me from buying another one for my wife's MacBook Air.
Works well, but not enough July 9, 2010 Sarah Tarbox I've had this cooling pad for about 1 week. It does keep my laptop a bit cooler than before, but as other reviewers mentioned, once the pad heats up it isn't effective until it cools down again. What I like about it the best is its slim, unobtrusive design, comfort when using it on my lap, and portability. It will fit in my laptop bag without really adding any weight. My laptop has continued to have problems with overheating, however (replaced my motherboard twice in 6 months). So, I plan to buy a cooling pad with fans to use when not traveling. Overall, this is a good product that is reasonably priced and does what it is designed to do, but won't solve significant overheating problems.
Great product for the money June 25, 2010 Angela Pierce (Appleton, WI USA) I was sick of getting cooling mats that had fans. the fans always got very loud after awhile. This product works very well for keeping the computer cool. it is a bit slippery but not too bad.

This product works great:no sound, nothing. I know, it does not work well after 3-4 hours of use, but all you have to do is let it chill for about 5-10 m. After all it works really well, specially when i put it on my lap. After all, we all need to save our kids. (:
Works great! June 2, 2010 Michaela J. Herron (Kansas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a Toshiba 17" laptop that is sometimes on for 20 hours because I am attending college online. This product has practically eliminated the cooling fan coming on. I read that the item is slick and slides, but I have not had that problem. In fact, I have not experienced any of the problems that the other reviews listed. I am very pleased with the cooling pad and I am recommending it to everyone that owns a laptop. I love that it does not make any noise and requires no energy to use it. It is also very easy to transport in the computer bag. I just pick it up with the computer and slide it in the bag.
